Steve E. George brings to the stage a taste of old-fashioned showmanship!  His passion and endless love of singing took root in the Baptist Church from which he was inspired as a child. Steve recalls, "In the living room mirror, I would continue the Sunday Church service, imagining that I was leading the congregation in a soulful hymn.  Actually, I was too shy to sing at church."

A veteran of the Des Moines music scene, Steve performed in clubs on the legendary Center Street of Des Moines at and before age 18.  In the 70’s he became front man for the band Antelon, a jazz/funk horn band who enjoyed much recognition in the Midwest and recorded several original tunes.  In recent years, Steve has been invited to sing with blues groups at Chicago’s House of Blues, Kingston Mines, Blues Etc., and Blues On Clark.  In addition to performing in the Midwest, Steve has connected with audiences in Hawaii, Nashville, Las Vegas, Memphis, Atlanta, and Florida.  In 2007, Steve and The Bob Pace Band opened for one of Steve's favorite groups, Tower of Power.  Steve and Bob Pace went on to represent Iowa in the 2010 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN.

In 2005, Steve was inducted into the Iowa Blues Hall of Fame for 40 years of keeping the blues alive.

Steve's ceaseless energy, humor, and love of life are key to his popularity and large fan base.
